About Us
Whole Family Nutrition is a new website designed to help families come together and learn how to live a healthy life. Our hope is that parents will form a community here and share their successes and challenges so they can help each other improve. We (Julie and Nick) will be sharing our insights periodically in the form of articles and tips. We will soon have a forum where parents can share their ideas with each other. We hope you comment a lot and become otherwise involved! Healthy eating is fun, rewarding, enjoyable…and possible!
Our Family

Julie and Nicholas Hundley maintain this website. We have two young children: Isaac, 6; and Anika, 3. We’ve been studying and experimenting with food for many years, and now we hope to assist others in their healthy eating journey. We’ve learned a lot over the years, but that doesn’t mean we’re not learning new things about nutrition every day!
Our Vision and Mission
We envision a world where all children are vibrantly healthy, happy and strong. Their eyes sparkle. Their skin is clear, toned, and smooth. Their muscles are firm and developed, and their bones are healthy and strong.
Their minds are adroitly constructed. Their nerves fire, on cue, and in perfect harmony. Their emotions are healthy, controlled, and positive.
They are happy, full of energy, and full of hope.
That’s what we see.

Our Philosophy
Since we have had an above-average focus on food and health, we feel we’re in a serviceable position to help others down the path of creating a healthy family.
The purpose of this site is first and foremost to be a source of inspiration and guidance toward the practical application of all the best nutrition advice available.
We especially want to help people overcome the roadblocks that frustrate their attempts to eat healthy.
What We Eat

Julie
I have been interested in health and nutrition for twelve years, after my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1996. I started out on the Macrobiotic eating system, which focuses on whole, natural foods and lots of vegetables. Since then, I have been collecting the best recipes, resources, supplies and techniques for eating healthy.
Nicholas
I’ve been interested in healthy eating for a while now, ever since my mom told me about amino acids when I was young. Of course, I just dabbled in it then, but over the years I have learned more and more, gathering what information I could about nutrition and trying to apply it. I have always been very curious, enjoying science. I got a Master’s degree in Biochemistry at the university, which has given me a strong understanding of human metabolism and nutrition. In the laboratory I have studied phytochemicals, natural products, free radicals, and enzyme kinetics in relation to cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and infection. I have maintained an interest in nutrition over the years, especially childhood nutrition. I’ve done a lot of research on how to have a healthy baby (stimulated by the pregnancies with our own two kids) and am enjoying studying more.
